For me personally, the hardest part of the CFA exam wasn’t the reading. I spent weeks with the curriculum, reading chapters, highlighting, making notes, proper student mode. And honestly, it felt like it was working. When I tried my first set of practice questions, I got half of them wrong. It wasn’t that I hadn’t studied.
Then I realised that knowing the material and answering exam-style questions are just two different skills. So I flipped my studying and made questions the main thing. I used Wall Street Uni. The questions are in the same format as the real exam, and every wrong answer comes with an explanation showing exactly what to go back to. And then, when I didn’t understand a question, the AI assistant explained it straight away and put it in the context of the study materials.
Before the exam, I did the mocks in an interface that looked exactly like the real test software. So by exam day, the format held no surprises. And if I was preparing again, I’d do it in that way from day one. Much less re-reading the books, much more time on questions.
